Characteristics and classification of aluminum cold rolling

1. Characteristics of cold rolling:

Cold rolling refers to the rolling production mode below the recrystallization temperature. Because the cold rolling temperature is low, dynamic recrystallization will not appear in the rolling process, and the product temperature can only rise to the recovery temperature, so the work hardening rate is high.

The advantages of cold rolling are: high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality; The microstructure and properties of the strip are more uniform; Products in different states can be obtained by heat treatment; It can be used to roll the strip which cannot be rolled by hot rolling. The disadvantages of cold rolling are high energy consumption and low pass processing rate.

2. Classification of cold rolling mill:
Cold rolling mill is divided into block mill and coil mill. Coil Mill is divided into single stand cold mill, double stand or multi stand cold tandem mill according to the number of stands. According to the number of rolls, coil mills are divided into two roll, three roll, four roll, six roll and multi roll cold rolling mills.

3. Two high cold rolling mill is mainly used for rolling narrow gauge plate and strip. The mill is used in some small aluminum processing enterprises and laboratories. The equipment has simple structure and no automatic control technology.

4. Four high mill:

In the four high rolling mill, the rolling pressure is transferred to the backup roll through the roll body of the work roll, and then to the screw down by the roll neck of the backup roll. The main reason is that the supporting roller bears the load and produces deflection. Generally, the diameter of backup roll is 2 ~ 4 times larger than that of work roll, so the deflection is greatly reduced. In order to further reduce the bending deformation of work roll, the bending control system is installed on the four high mill. Four high mill is the most widely used mill in cold rolling process, which is widely used at home and abroad. It includes uncoiler, deflection guide roll, five roll tension roll, work roll, support roll, exit guide roll or strip roll, coiler and related supporting equipment.

5. Rolling mill:
In order to produce thinner and higher precision products on the basis of the four high mill, it is necessary to further increase the rigidity of the mill and make the work roll finer. Therefore, people have developed the six high cold mill, which is the current development trend.
